Shoghi Effendi

To preserve the unity of the Bahá’í Faith and advance Bahá’u’lláh’s vision of the oneness of humanity, Bahá’u’lláh appointed ‘Abdu’l-Bahá as the Center of His Covenant and ordained the establishment of the Universal House of Justice. In His Will and Testament, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá designated His eldest grandson, Shoghi Effendi, as Guardian of the Bahá’í Faith.

For thirty-six years, Shoghi Effendi guided the growth and development of the worldwide Bahá’í community, strengthening its unity, deepening its understanding of the Faith, and preparing its institutions for an ever-advancing civilization. Under his guidance, the Bahá’í Administrative Order established by Bahá’u’lláh expanded throughout the world, laying the foundations for a diverse and global community.

Shoghi Effendi also translated many Bahá’í writings into English, contributed to the development of the Bahá’í World Centre in the Holy Land, and, through his extensive correspondence, provided profound insights into spiritual development, social transformation, and humanity’s collective future.
